Series: One-off Sermon

This Sunday, Chris Johnson, Sr. Dir of Church Engagement and External Advocacy from Lifeline Children’s Services, brings a special message on Orphan Sunday. He reaches out to us with the Gospel parable on the Good Samaritan calling us to put compassion into action.

This Sunday we hear a word from guest preacher, Michael Armentrout, a candidate for ordination in our denomination, ECO Presbyterians. He brings us a timely word from Matthew 14:1-23, about two kingdoms, and how the Kingdom of God looks different from the world and you and I are invited into that kingdom.

This week we have a special guest preacher, our missionary partner Michael Gordon. Michael serves with RUFs national office. This week he bring us a word from Psalm 31:7. Do you know that God understands your hurt and sees you in it?

As we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper in service today, we first start by looking at 1 Corinthians 11:23-29, where Paul passes to us his instruction and teaching on communion. How do we prayerfully approach the Lord’s table and participate in the divine union with Jesus in this sacred moment?

In this sermon, we are joined by one of our Missionary Partners, George Mixon. He delivers are sermon from Revelation 3:15-20, challenging hearers to obtain riches that can only be found in Christ.

In this sermon, we explore how we pray for provision based on the words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:25-33. How do you pray for provision? What are the ways in which you trust God to provide all that you need?

This Sunday we look take a closer look at Mary and Elizabeth’s story from Luke 1:39-55 as we honor the history of Mother’s Day, and the Lord who is faithful to bless us with life through Mothers and the Abundant Life through Jesus.

A painting by Emily Larkey, “For They Know Not,” inspires our message for today, as we dive into Matthew 9:35-38. How does art play a role in our faith? How do we respond to art as it inspires us to read the gospel? Jesus had compassion on the harassed and helpless. Let us be moved like Jesus in today’s world.

On Thursday, May 1st, many around the nation will set aside time to pray for our country, its leaders, and future. Pastor Austin opens the scriptures to 1 Timothy 2:1-6 and teaches the ways we are called to pray as a nation and what for what we should pray.
