Kids Ministry

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”-Matthew 19:14

At First Presbyterian, we desire to make disciples at every age and we recognize that children are the future of Jesus’ church. If Jesus called them to himself and cared for them, then we too want to care for our children as Jesus did.

NURSERY

As a part of the nursery ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Griffin, we want your child to see the love of Christ through a safe, friendly environment where Christ’s love is demonstrated through our loving nurturing caregivers.

Our nursery serves children from infants to toddler age 3 and is available during all regularly scheduled services and ministries.

Separation can be difficult for both parent and child, so it’s our goal to meet your child’s needs as you would.  When you sign your child in, you may provide any feeding instructions or other instructions for your child’s care.

With our digital check-in system, the caregiver will be able to quickly communicate with the parents to give reassurance or ask any further questions.

ELEMENTARY

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”-3 John 1:4

Our Kids Ministry is for ages 4-5th grades.  Our Welcome Team will be available to direct you and we’ll have plenty of signage on Sunday to help along the way.  Our volunteer team is passionate about teaching the gospel to your child in a fun and meaningful way.

FIRST TIME?

Welcome! We are excited for you and your kids to join us at First Presbyterian Kids.  It is our pleasure to have your child entrusted in our care, and we take great care in nurturing and protecting them in God’s love.

Children’s ministry time is on Sunday mornings, starting the worship service with their families and then will move to their own teaching time before the sermon begins.

During that time, children will hear the gospel and know Christ’s love from the scriptures, prayer together, and activities that help reinforce the teaching from the day.

For more information about Children’s Ministry, please visit with the Welcome Center and fill out our Connect Card to get started receiving the latest information about our programs.

All children are required to be checked in prior to service and must be picked up with the proper name tag given during check-in.

HOW DOES CHECK IN WORK?

Our Kids Ministry uses a digital check-in system that keeps kids safe and helps parents feel reassured. The check-in system allows only authorized guardians to drop off and pick up children and also tracks child allergies and digital medical releases signed by parents.

FIRST TIME? Please make sure you arrive a little early in order to sign your child in for the first time. We want to make sure that we have all the necessary information for you and for you child so that we can keep your child safe and you informed throughout the service.

Our sign-in kiosk can be found just through the doors of the kids ministry hallway and on your left.

CHILD SAFETY PROCEDURES

As a parent, there is nothing more comforting than knowing you will be dropping off your child in a safe environment. When parents bring their children to church, they are entrusting a part of their spiritual development to the teachers and staff. They’re also putting their child’s physical safety in the hands of the ministry leaders. Ministry leaders, in turn, want to serve kids and provide a fun, enriching, and safe environment.

Our Preschool and Children’s areas are locked down during the services and are continually monitored by cameras and a uniformed off duty officer. Additionally, our staff and teachers submit to background checks and training.
